In praeterito futurum

In praeterito futurum is my current project and also my graduation project I am working on right now. So this project will only link to the progression blog as this project is just getting started at the time that I wrote this. Once the project is finished it will get its own dedicated page. In praeterito futurum is going to be my ultimate portfolio piece where I will showcase my skills as a Environment Artist. What I will be doing is taking the roman empire and speed their technology up times 100. So we are still talking about being in the history while making it futuristic.

Project Acronis

Acronis was a project of mine together with a game designer called Laura Bastiaanse. Our main goal during this project was to learn how to create a Multiplayer FPS map. Now this was a real challenge for me as I had to provide all the art for this project. And it was a fairly big map as you will see. But overall I am happy with its results. I should note that we did none of the programming work as we made use of the Unity FPS Sample so that we could focus on actually creating the environment.

The Cryptographer

This was a project that was created for an already existing escape room. This project was created with a team of 7 people. I was responsible for the 3D concept renders and also did my part on the physical scale models. The main reason why I am highlighting this project here is because our progress in  designing this escape room piece was really well done. Maybe by far the best concept phase I have had in a team of this size. And I absolutely love the end result.

Riyah and the Corrupted Zodiac

Riyah is one of the project I really want to keep working on when I have the time for it. It is a 2.5D platformer. This project was a graphical achievement for me and the team that worked on this project at that time. I was in charge of the Environment, Programming and Technical art side of this project. We made this demo in the time span of 8 weeks.

Visual Virus (Global Gamejam 2018)

In this project I actually did not make any of the art. Now you might think: "wait why do you have it in your portfolio then?". Well I did all the programming in this game! Now keep in mind that I am by all means no programmer in terms of games so I am insanely proud of what I managed to accomplish in 48 hours. Visual Virus is a competitive 2 player splitscreen game where the goal is to get as many points as you can within the time limit by combining the colors of viruses that is prompted. However everytime you move the game will turn black and white which makes it harder to get the right color. Also the Viruses like to cluster sometimes and make it harder for the player to actually get to them.
